1) Beauty And The Beast


2017 is set to be yet another big year for Disney with the upcoming release of Beauty And The Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle.

Beauty and the Beast is the most recent Disney classic to be given a live action make-over following the stunning adaptions of Cinderella, Maleficent and the Jungle Book.

Beauty and the Beast is the story of a clever, beautiful, independent girl called Belle who is taken hostage in a castle by a monstrous beast. Even though she is terrified and miserable in the castle, she befriends the Beast’s enchanted staff and falls in love with the kind heart of a Prince within him.

The 1991 animated musical version of Beauty and the Beast was originally produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is thousands of people across the globes favourite Disney film and millions of people are anxious to see Disney’s latest adaption.

2) La La Land


Damien Chazelle’s romantic-comedy musical La La Land has already been predicted as the winner of Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards, months prior to its release.

The modern musical tells the story of Sebastian, a jazz musician, and Mia, an aspiring actress, who fall in love while trying to pursue their dreams in Los Angeles. The couple struggle with making ends meet and are forced to decide whether love or the spotlight is more important.

We have already seen the chemistry on screen between Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone previously when they starred alongside each other in Crazy, Stupid Love, which makes fans of the Golden Globe winners even more excited for the release of La La Land.

From the trailer, the film appears to be in a creative, unique style that hasn’t been done before which makes it stand out from all films coming out in the upcoming year.

3) Fifty Shades Darker


The Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, has beaten the record which was previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the most viewed trailer in 24 hours.

It was obvious that there would be a sequel to the 2015 Sam Taylor-Johnson adaption of E.L.James novels fHappy Christmas Eve Eve! Get your santa hats and best moves ready, here are the 21 best songs for rockin’ around the Christmas tree. won a Golden Globe nomination for Ellie Golding’s “Love Me Like You Do” and an Oscar nomination for The Weeknd’s “Earned It”.

The plot is based around the couple rekindling their relationship and Anastasia’s struggle to cope with learning more about Christian’s past and inner demons.

The blockbuster will be released just four days before Valentine’s Day and is lined up to be yet another great success.

4) Trainspotting 2


Twenty years have passed, and although much has changed for the friend group, a lot remains the same. The main character Mark, played by Ewan McGregor, returns home to Spud, Sick Boy, Begbie and other old friends who are all waiting for him.

The first Trainspotting movie, directed by Danny Boyle, was nominated for an Academy Award in the 1990s and told the story of drug addicts in the poor ends of Edinburgh.

The movie is regarded as a classic for Scots and fans of the original are more than excited for the quirky characters to return to the big screen in 2017.

5) Kong: Skull Island


Yet again, another King Kong is hitting the big screens. Only this time it stars Academy Award Winner Brie Larson and introduce himTom Hiddleston.

However, this new adaption of King Kong is set to be much different from the rest. There is due to be a lot less drama and a lot more action, with a group of official soldiers led by Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L.Jackson, and most importantly Brie Larson will not be your usual “damsel in distress”.

Additionally, none of the film will feature a city (such as New York City). Instead, every scene will be set in Skull Island. Above all this film is to be scariest and gorier than any other King Kong movie we have seen yet.

6) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Vol 2


Marvel’s 2014 film starring Chris Pratt is releasing a sequel to one of the funniest superhero films to date, Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s right, the sequel to the hit superhero film is scheduled to be released on the 7th of May 2017; and fans are more than excited.

This Guardian of the Galaxy is set two months after the first film and Marvel are being quite secretive about its plot, only revealing that: “The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true sssparentage”

However comic book fans not only have the release of Guardians of the Galaxy to look forward to, but also Marvel’s new Spiderman film and DCs Justice League. 2017 is due to be a big year for comic book fans!
