It has been confirmed that the Fast Food company, McDonald’s is leaving Paisley’s high street.
The fast food chain has said the decision to close has been made due to the fact that the store isn’t making enough money to stay in the area.
It has been in its prime location for more than 20 years this comes after Thornton’s and the Yorkshire building society both announced their closures in the last few weeks.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said:
“We can confirm that McDonald’s has taken the decision to close the restaurant on Paisley High Street.
“All staff members have been offered employment at our neighbouring restaurants in the area, including our Renfrew Road store.
“This is not a decision we took lightly but as we constantly review our estate, it became apparent that this location was no longer viable for us and therefore we took the difficult decision to cease trading.”
