George Square decorated in the Christmas spirit.
It’s that time of year again, the joy of Christmas is upon us, and visiting the traditional markets is fundamental to the holiday spirit.
You can hang out in the fantastically crafted German bars and sip a nice cold traditional beer or Gluhwein. Or you could throw yourself at the stalls of delicious street foods from around the world.
The moment you walk into the George Square Christmas Market you know you have been transported into a winter wonderland. The first thing catching your eye is the magnificent 15-metre Christmas Street that is definitely hard to miss.

What is even more amazing is the buzz that you get from walking around the market, where you can feel everyone’s excitement for the countdown to the big day. Everyone’s favourite Christmas tunes are playing in the background, and families are having fun, riding on the big wheel or hopping on the centrepiece of the George Square market, the traditional carousel.
With over 50 traders from across the world and some closer to home selling a variety of homemade products, high-quality crafts and a selection of gifts. You are spoiled with choice when it comes to picking out the perfect present for that special someone.
