Renfrewshire council has launched a new fund to support the cultural sector in the area, as part of the legacy of Paisley’s UK City of Culture bidding process.
The Cultural Organisation Development Fund is set to run for the next three years up to 2022.
The initiative will support organisations, covering costs such as staffing, improving governance and management. It could build up new audiences and global and international partnerships.
The fund is open to both cultural and creative organisations across Paisley and Renfrewshire.
Ian Nicolson, Renfrewshire council leader, said:
“This new fund is key to continuing our ambitions to support Renfrewshire’s cultural sector to fulfil its potential.
“The Culture, Heritage and Events Fund has already succeeded in increasing the number of people getting involved in creative activity in Renfrewshire and the Cultural Organisational Development Fund will support organisations to develop their capacity and progress with longer term planning.”
Applicants are encouraged to contact Renfrewshire Leisure Cultural Service team, who will administer on behalf of Renfrewshire council before applying.
There will be advice surgeries set up and held in January 2019 to allow organisations who are thinking of making applications to seek further information and guidance.
The deadline for the first application is March 1 2019 and funding decisions to be made in May 2019. In October 2019 and February 2020 further funding rounds will take place.
