Daughter of Slipknot founding member dies aged 22

The heavy mental band revealed on social media that the youngest daughter of percussionist and co-founder Michael Crahan, better known as Clown, tragically passed away yesterday.

Gabrielle Crahan was pronounced dead on Saturday the 18th of May at the age of 22, details surrounding the death have not just been realised, both the family and band have asked fans and the media to respect their privacy at this time.

She was the youngest of four children that Michael had with his wife, Chantel, whom he married in June 1992 in Des Moines, Iowa, she was last pictured with the star on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California back in January 2015.

In a statement the band said: “It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain that I inform you all that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday.

“My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward.”

The news comes as the band were preparing to launch their European tour ahead of the launch of their new album will is rumoured to be realised on August 9th

Fans have shared their condolences on social media with a huge outpouring of support.

One Scottish fan tweeted: “Sorry for your loss clown, thoughts to you and your family.”

Slipknot last played in Scotland as part of their ‘Prepare For Hell Tour’ on January the 18th, 2015, at the SSE Hydro, they were supported by Korn and King 810.

The band were commended after they sent a ‘care package’ to a 12-year-old fan, after her signed poster was stolen at a meet and greet with the band after their Scottish gig.
